11/22/2023 0 Comments 7 days to die base on a bridgeIf the amount of weight being supported is more than the SI of a block, things collapse. Every block has a SI rating (how much weight it can support), and a weight. Every block sideways, however, removes structural integrity, until things collapse. Basically, all Structural Integrity is calculated from vertical columns - you you have a column to bedrock, it is perfectly stable, and all blocks are completely supported. Besides that, I guess having a bridge base on a canyon like that screenshot I posted would look kinda cool.if it werent for the need for that middle pillar supporting the needed weight that the vanilla styled bridge does well in without even needing a piller in the middle unless the blocks used on those bridges are different to the iron blocks creative menu allows and are more durable and stronger? Since I cant seem to find that exact block to rebuild to exact looking spec.unless I'm blind. I guess those flying bird zombies might still pose a problem.since they would still be able to fly underneath and get you. Well with bridges being bases, at least you dont have to worry about that odd zombie or two crawling from underneath your base to get to you. Bridges stretch structural integrity to breaking point, and are absolutely prone to falling apart at the merest change - it’s part of what makes them terrible bases. Essentially, what you need to do to fix that bridge is leave a central support column in. Originally posted by Maddermax:Anyway, what you’ve discovered is that “structural integrity” doesn’t always work realistically in this game. if making or repairing a bridge, always support in the Center. Bridges are prone to weird collapses because of this. So yeah, straight up and down columns, even made of straw or worse, are 100% stable, any cross beams, angled struts, braces or similar, even if they make absolute sense realistically, will make collapse more likely.ĭevs can cheat this a bit, because POIs don’t calculate SI until a change occurs - this leads to parts some POIs collapsing at odd times, like when you place a frame, or pick up a destructible loot object. SI is recalculated every time weight or support is added or removed - so any change can trigger a collapse. I’d suggest watching some videos on 7dtd structural integrity. I think if you search Dev in the “u” menu, you should find The dev tools, including a terrain gun (looks like an SMG) which instantly breaks blocks.Īnyway, what you’ve discovered is that “structural integrity” doesn’t always work realistically in this game.
